Like all great fan conventions, Furthon runs on volunteers. Volunteering is voluntary, in the same sense as everything else here.

Applause Coordinator

Signals the start of applause, monitors its intensity, and signals the end of applause, which is the difficult part.

Queue Marshal

Keeps lines orderly. Experience in forming lines of forty thousand an advantage. Experience in forming pictures out of lines preferred.

Hands out water, fans and reassurance. Must be comfortable seeing a fursuiter's real face and never, ever describing it.

A staff shirt, a meal voucher for the Paw Cafe, and the lasting gratitude of the Convention Chair, delivered by letter in Juche 118.

Volunteers who work twenty hours or more receive a Hero of Labour pin. Volunteers who work forty hours receive a second Hero of Labour pin, slightly shinier.
