Terms of Service

The convention's terms

Conditions of attendance

1. Conduct. Attendees must at all times be respectful, hydrated and applauding. Attendees who stop applauding before the Applause Coordinator signals are asked to think about what they have done.

2. Fursuits. Every fursuit remains the property of its wearer. Every wearer remains the property of their fursuit, as anyone who has worn one in August already knows.

3. Badges. Badges must be worn visibly at all times, including in the shower, where badges will be checked.

4. Photography. Photography is permitted of approved subjects. The Ryugyong Hotel may only be photographed from angles that make it look finished.

5. Dance. The Juche Rave has one approved dance move. It is a very good move. Please do not introduce a second move without a permit.

6. Amendments. These terms may be amended at any time, retroactively, including this term, which was added yesterday and has always been here.

7. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of physics and by a committee, in that order, except on weekends.

Not a joke

The actual terms

Pawngyang Furthon is satire. It is not a real event, and nothing on this site is an offer of goods, services, tickets, accommodation or travel. Do not register, book, pay or travel on the basis of anything written here, and do not pay anyone who claims to be selling badges or trips for it.

The site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any real convention, government, airline, hotel, tour operator, photographer or person. Any resemblance to real fan conventions is an affectionate homage. Names of guests, staff and roles are invented.

Photographs belong to their photographers and are used under the licences listed on the Photo credits page. The people who appear in them are not associated with this parody, and the captions are jokes written for this site, not statements about them.

In real life, many governments advise their citizens against all travel to North Korea, and some restrict it. Check your own government's travel advice.

The site is provided as-is, for amusement, with no warranty of any kind.
